The concept of community has evolved significantly over the past three centuries. We’ve transitioned from predominantly agrarian and rural societies to urban, industrialized societies, and now to post-industrial societies. In this latter phase of de-industrialization, there has been a decline in community life and a decrease in civil society organizations. These changes have led to the gradual breakdown of traditional family networks, increased inequality among different groups of people, and the emergence of institutions designed to fulfill needs that were previously met by the community itself.

On the other hand, the concept of development implies progress or positive change aimed at enhancing various aspects of people’s lives.
