Who We Are
When you first hear about DaanPatra you might think we are an organization that is into collecting money to help people around, but the work and cause we do at DaanPatra is bigger than it seems. DaanPatra started in 2018, DaanPatra has helped a lot of families over 50 lakh. Ever since then to till now there have been more than 50,000 volunteers who have worked hard to make their mission a success. DaanPatra works at the Pan India level, they have volunteers all around the globe and their achievements have received recognition from all over the globe from India Book of Records, World Book of Records London, Exclusive World Records, and King’s Book of Records.
DaanPatra is a non-profit organization or you can call it an NGO, but their work has been proven profitable to multiple homeless and hopeless people. DaanPatra is a home for the homeless that helps people who are struggling and have no place to call home. DaanPatra has become a special home or an “Anath Ashram” where elderly people, beggars who have lost the purpose of their lives, children and physically challenged people are left by their family members to beg on the stress. They provide these people and make sure they have a safe place to stay. But they do more than just give them a roof over their heads. They also take care of their feelings and make sure they have everything they need to be happy and healthy.
DaanPatra has also initiated a mission where rather than begging and being dependable on someone else. They teach people living in their Ashram to work on their own to earn some money to help themselves and their families. they have started a channel of employment for them all via “DaanPatra Agarbatti”. This way they encourage people to work and have a purpose in life which gives them the opportunity to earn and live a life with dignity.
What We Do
At DaanPatra our mission is to offer safe and secure housing to individuals who don’t have a place to call home. We believe that everyone deserves a roof over their heads, and we strive to make that a reality for those who need it most. Our initiative, DaanPatra Ashram, is a caring place for elderly people, homeless people, beggars and those without homes. We provide care, respect, and help to such people who may be suffering from abuse, family problems, money issues, health problems, or begging on the streets. Our aim is to give safe and cosy places to stay for homeless people, making sure they have a clean and safe home. We want to give such homeless and hopeless people a good life when they can’t take care of themselves and stop them from sleeping on streets and corners.
We also provide help and awareness to young children struggling with drug addiction, helping them find employment opportunities. We empower beggars by bringing them into our ashram and offering them support and guidance. Through education and guidance, we help teenagers break free from their addictions and steer their lives towards a positive direction. At DaanPatra, we are committed to making a positive impact on people’s lives and will continue to do so for those who are in need. How We work
At DaanPatra, we are dedicated to helping those in need by collecting and donating unused items from donors’ homes. Our process is simple and effective, allowing us to make a significant impact on the lives of many families. First, we encourage donors to gather any unused items in their homes, such as clothes, toys, books, shoes, utensils, electronic items, furniture, and other items. We accept donations of all kinds, except for cash, and our team will collect the items from the donor’s doorstep.
To request a pickup, donors can either make a phone call or use our app to raise a request. Our team will then go to the donor’s home and collect the items within seven days. We ensure that all donations are delivered to those in need, free of charge. Our team is made up of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their community. We are grateful for the support of over 50 Lakhs+ volunteers who have helped us deliver essential items to about 50 Lakhs+ needy families. We are committed to using technology to make charity more accessible and sustainable. Our website allows us to efficiently manage donations and ensure that they reach those who need them most. We have provided assistance and support to countless individuals and families who were in desperate need of help, offering them a ray of hope in their darkest times. We have run multiple campaigns in the past years, that led us to reach many people in different ruler areas, in hard times like COVID also.
We have worked tirelessly to raise awareness about drug addiction among young children, offering them guidance and support to overcome their struggles. Additionally, we have facilitated employment opportunities for these children, enabling them to build a brighter future. We have actively engaged with teenagers trapped in the cycle of drug abuse, offering them a path to break free from addiction and pursue a better future. Through education, guidance, and support, we help these teenagers redirect their lives towards a positive direction. Our goal at DaanPatra is to keep improving the lives of people who are less fortunate. We work tirelessly to provide all people and families facing poverty with a more hopeful and brighter future.
